Robinson vows to keep fighting after Aberdeen lose 4-0 to Hibs
Stephen Robinson called the defeat at Pittodrie unacceptable and admitted a relegation fight is possible on current form.
By Peter Martin,
Stephen Robinson has insisted he will not walk away from Aberdeen after a 4-0 home defeat to Hibs at Pittodrie. In his full post-match reaction, carried on The Football Show, he said: "I will keep fighting until told otherwise."
Robinson did not hide from the scale of the loss. He described it as "an unacceptable performance, an unacceptable result" and accepted that the outcome would come back on him. "The blame will fall on me no matter what," he said.
Relegation fear acknowledged
Robinson conceded that Aberdeen could find themselves in a relegation fight "with the current form". He also addressed the club's injury situation, though he was careful not to lean on it. "People don't want to hear excuses," he said.
Nisbet not singled out
One of the more uncomfortable moments of the afternoon came when the Pittodrie crowd cheered the substitution of captain Kevin Nisbet. Robinson declined to single out his skipper when asked about it afterwards.
He also reflected on the week since the club's trip to Hampden and finished with a message for the supporters.
What comes next
The result leaves Aberdeen's board with a decision to make. The question now is whether Robinson is given the international break to turn things around. On this evidence, he intends to keep going until the club tells him otherwise.
