On The Football Show, Peter Martin, Hugh MacDonald and Gordon Parks assessed Sebastien Pocognoli's Scotland squad, and the panel's verdict on the campaign was stark: "The Nations League has been killed stone dead for Scotland."
The discussion opened with the squad itself and the "apathy" surrounding the national team. The panel then turned to the match against Slovenia, which was described as "a chastening performance".
Penrice gets his chance
James Penrice's call-up was among the main talking points, with Billy Gilmour and Nathan Patterson also discussed. The panel went on to weigh up whether the current crop really is the worst group of players Scotland have had, or whether the problems lie elsewhere.
Questions over style
A large part of the conversation centred on a simple question about the head coach: what Pocognoli's style actually is. The panel examined the high press that left Scotland exposed, along with the ball over the top.
The idea of winning first was also raised, with Strachan, McLeish, Smith and Clarke all brought into that part of the discussion.
North Macedonia and Switzerland next
The panel finished by setting out what they expect from the matches against North Macedonia and Switzerland, with the wider debate centred on whether Pocognoli can get Scotland back on track.
