Dowie: It would be foolish to write off QOS
Queen of the South defender Andy Dowie says the Doonhamers can cause an upset in the Championship play-offs should they get there.

Queens currently occupy fourth and the final remaining play-off spot but face stiff competition from the likes of Falkirk and Raith Rovers.

And ahead of important clash against Raith, the 31-year-old said it would be wrong to write off the Doonhamers after impressive performances this season against some of the top teams in the division.

“Can we cause an upset in the play-off? Yes,” he told Peter and Roughie’s Football Show.

“We’ll go into the game with nothing to fear, we’ll not be under much pressure, but it’s a long way to go we’ve got 10 or 11 games left and we’ll just need to see what happens.

“We’ve had good results this season. We managed to beat Rangers at Palmerston and we more than held on our own against them on Tuesday night.

“They are definitely under achieving as they should wiping the floor with teams like Queen of the South but we’ve been punching above our weight this season and hopefully we can continue that.

“We’re only focusing on Raith and Falkirk. We think we’ll be in a battle with them for fourth spot. The big three are going to probably end up in the top three places. It’s going to be a massive game tomorrow against Raith.”
