Motherwell starlet Thomas signs new three-year deal

Motherwell winger Dom Thomas has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal at the club.

The 19-year-old broke into the first team at the end of last year after impressing at Under-20 level and will stay at Fir Park until at least the summer of 2018.

And the Steelmen’s boss Ian Baraclough is excited about the talented prospect.

“I am really pleased Dom has extended his contract with the club as he has the potential to be an excellent footballer,” he told the club’s official website.

“He’s still young and learning but his raw talent and enthusiasm for the game is infectious. We are being careful about how we use him at the moment, but there is no doubt he has it within himself to go and play at the very top level.”

Motherwell host Kilmarnock on Saturday as they look to extract themselves from the relegation play-off battle.

The Fir Park outfit ended a run of nine games without a victory with a 2-1 win over Inverness CT last weekend.
