Warburton warns Stubbs: Concentrate on your own club

Rangers manager Mark Warburton delivered a swift riposte to claims from Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs that his job is easy.

Warburton, speaking after his side’s 2-0 Petrofac Cup victory over Ayr United, hit back at suggestions from Stubbs earlier on Wednesday who told Hibs TV that it’s “very easy to bring better players in when you’ve got money to spend”.

Warburton, who saw his side continue their winning start to the season after goals from Nicky Clark and Barrie McKay, told reporters: “Clearly it must be easy managing Real Madrid and Man United then, I guess.”

He added: “I would suggest that any manager without the facts keeps his mouth shut and concentrates on his club and not worry about our club. That’s the key point.

“Right now we are very respectful to every other club and manager, and unless you know any facts that I don’t know, concentrate on your own team.

“I know what we have spent and that’s a complete fallacy.”

Rangers entertain Hibs at Ibrox on Sunday having already beaten the Leith outfit 6-2 this season.
