Daley Blind has extended his Girona stay ahead of the Catalan club’s Champions League debut next season.

The former Ajax, Bayern Munich and Manchester United player has agreed a 12-month extension to the two-year deal he signed upon joining Girona last summer.

“Girona FC and Daley Blind have reached an agreement to extend the Dutch defender’s contract for another season, until June 2026,” read a club statement.

“With 33 games this season, Blind has been a fundamental piece of the team to which he has brought his experience, quality and versatility on the field.

“With the extension of Daley Blind’s contract, Girona FC is guaranteed the continuity of a versatile player who, at 34 years old, has extensive experience in some of the most prestigious clubs on the continent.”

Girona are currently third in LaLiga with two games remaining and guaranteed a top-four place to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
