Stephen Robinson made no excuses after Aberdeen lost 1-0 to Falkirk at Pittodrie. In his post-match reaction on The Football Show, he summed up the night plainly: "Not good enough, we got what we deserved."
Robinson pointed to four great chances that Aberdeen failed to take, chances he said "we have to score". In a game settled by a single goal, those misses proved costly.
Decisions held until the morning
Robinson would not be drawn into acting while emotions were still raw. He said any decisions would wait until "we come in tomorrow morning with a clear head".
He also acknowledged that he has been chopping and changing his side, adding: "We've not been able to put a consistent side out."
Responsibility shared
Robinson said "the players have to look in the mirror", and made clear that the staff must do the same.
The Aberdeen support "made their feelings known at the end", and the team were booed off. Robinson did not exempt himself from that criticism. He said: "I was booed off as well and deservedly so."
It was a frank assessment from Robinson. He accepted the result, the reaction from the stands and his own share of the blame, while holding back any decisions until the following morning.
