Stephen Robinson back with a win as Aberdeen beat St Mirren 3-1

The Football Show panel looked at Aberdeen's 3-1 win over St Mirren and the criticism aimed at Stephen Robinson, and warned that "we are in a knee-jerk world now".

By PLZ Soccer,

Aberdeen's 3-1 win over St Mirren led Monday's edition of The Football Show LIVE, with Peter Martin, Alan Rough, Alex Rae and Tam McManus going through the match and Stephen Robinson coming back with a win.

Robinson and the fans

The win came against a backdrop of criticism from the stands. As the panel put it, "We have Aberdeen fans who are slaughtering him."

Their view of the wider mood around the game was that "we are in a knee-jerk world now". That part of the discussion was about Robinson and also covered Alfred Johansson, and it raised the question of whether Aberdeen supporters should give Robinson time.

A screamer and a moved free kick

On the match itself, the panel picked out Lyons' "absolute screamer" as one of the moments of the game.

They also took issue with a free kick they said was taken "10 yards from where it actually happened". The incident was one of several refereeing and set-piece moments the panel went through.

St Mirren's chances and the penalties

The scoreline did not tell the whole story for the panel. They looked at the chances St Mirren had in the first half and at the penalty awarded in the game.

Stuart Armstrong was also part of the discussion, as was Nisbet's penalty.

Elsewhere in the section, the show touched on a suspension and on the Tennent's Sixes.
