From his arrival at the start of the millennium to becoming a beloved figure at the club, Giorgi Nemsadze was a player of immense quality. We reflect on his time in Scotland, his majestic skill on the ball, and why he was rightfully inducted into the Dundee Hall of Fame. It is a sad loss for everyone who watched him strut his stuff in the middle of the park.
Beyond the stats, Barry and Peter share personal memories of his character and the joy he brought to the pitch. We discuss his impact on Scottish football and look back at the special connection he had with the fans and his teammates, including Barry. It is a celebration of a player who truly had time for everyone.
"Everything went through Georgie." Barry Smith, Giorgi Nemsadze's Dundee teammate and captain, joins Peter Martin to remember the Dundee legend, who has died aged 54. "A top, top bloke" who had time for everyone, the two dressing rooms under the Bonettis, swearing in Georgian, playing alongside Caniggia, Juan Sara, Fabián Caballero and Zurab, the chip in the derby, the Hall of Fame, and the home brew he brought in an Irn-Bru bottle.
