Hearts fan David Beveridge joins Peter Martin in the PLZ Fan Zone to reflect on Hearts' 2-2 draw with Rapid Vienna in the first leg of their Europa Conference League playoff. He's optimistic Hearts can finish the job in Vienna after James Wilson's wonder goal, but says the back line is his big worry with Craig Halkett injured until the end of the year. He also backs keeping James Wilson, wants a 20-goal striker signed, and targets silverware in the Premier Sports Cup.
WHAT DID THE HEARTS FAN SAY ABOUT THE 2-2 WITH RAPID VIENNA?
David Beveridge thought Hearts were strong in a fast, competitive second half and rode their luck early, and is confident going into the second leg in Vienna - pointing out Rapid only drew 2-2 with Dundee United there last season.
WHAT IS HEARTS' BIGGEST WEAKNESS?
The defence. With Craig Halkett out until the end of the year and the spine weakened by summer departures (the goalkeeper plus Cammy Devlin and Lawrence Shankland to Rangers), Beveridge says Hearts concede too many goals and need to strengthen the centre of the team.
WHAT ARE HEARTS' AMBITIONS THIS SEASON?
Silverware in the Premier Sports Cup - with a tie against Stenhousemuir and the Old Firm drawn against each other - plus a top-three finish, praising Wouter Vrancken's exciting, fast-paced football (a contrast to how Derek McInnes had them playing last year). He's quietly confident for the Edinburgh derby against Hibs on 3 September at Easter Road.
