Hearts vs Hibs Premier Sports Cup Semi Final Preview Transcript:

Here at Hampden Park for day two of the Premier Sports League Cup semi-finals. This time it's Hibs and Hearts, Edinburgh clubs coming through to Glasgow on a sunny day. I'm not so sure it's going to be sunshine for the Leithers as they prepare to face Hearts. And if the first semi-final is anything to go by, then certainly Hearts are in the same position as Rangers.

Rangers by far the strongest side yesterday in that match against Aberdeen. Derek McInnes' side peppered the Dons goal. And in the end they got the just rewards about seven minutes from the end of time when Ryan Naderi popped up and just anticipated the shot from Penrice and redirected it into the back of the net. So it's Derek McInnes with Rangers in the League Cup semi-final but who's going to join them?

Will it be a very happy Wouter Vrancken or will Marink Reedijk somehow galvanise his side to produce what would be considered, I think, a shock here at Hampden if they were to knock Hearts out at the semi-final stage. So it's all set up. The last time these two sides met at Easter Road it was Hearts who came out on top. But this time around someone will say anything can happen in a cup match.

Well in this League Cup semi-final I think Hearts have certainly got more firepower, certainly more creativity. And it's down to Hibs to maybe come up with a game plan, try to do what maybe Aberdeen did yesterday, keep it tight for as long as possible and maybe snatch something in a counter-attack or indeed a set piece. But if you look at the Forum on paper, Hibs at this moment struggling to get any great Forum and Hearts with that impressive 2-2 draw against Rangers in midweek will certainly be buoyant and confident that they can do the business. So if you want my prediction I think it's going to be Wouter Vrancken and Hearts that's going to join Derek McInnes in the League Cup final in about five or six weeks time back here at Hampden.
