Martin O’Neill PREVIEWS Scottish Cup Final - Martin O'Neill in the Celtic press room, 24 hours from Hampden. Five minutes on Neil Lennon, the pitch-invasion debate, what comes next, and whether Saturday could be his last as Celtic manager.
The full press conference covers seven beats:
00:00 The INCENSED Neil Lennon photo moment
"He was incensed. He wasn't happy with me for not being here in time. I don't think he was happy with 'master and pupil' because we're about the same age. (No, we're not.) But he's calmed down now a little bit."
01:07 "Neil Lennon has been fantastic for me as a player"
"Absolutely fantastic. Pulled it round at Leicester City when I needed help big time. I chased him for about six months. Finally got him. His record at this football club — as a player and as a manager — is unsurpassed."
01:50 Neil Lennon as a manager
"What he's done did not surprise me. He had it within him. It's there in his character."
02:36 Martin O'Neill Mind games?
"I was not playing mind games with him. Not at all. But he was really angry."
03:08 How does Martin O'Neill feel ahead of the Scottish Cup Final?
"Despite the fact you've questioned me about pitch invasions, I'm great. I'm really looking forward to the game. Winning the league is like a weight off your shoulders — you've been carrying it around for some time."
03:55 Martin O'Neill's last game as Celtic manager?
"You young man will be the last person to find out. Don't you ever, ever question me again." On retirement: "You're young enough to be my son... or grandson, more to the point."
04:30 Dermot Desmond meeting + the trophy
"Anything we want to discuss would be after Saturday. I would love to win. I'd really love to win."
05:01 "I'm up against a very, very angry young man."
