"Our best win of the season." Martin O'Neill after Hibs 1-2 Celtic at Easter Road: the blustery conditions, coming from a goal behind, and why he rates it so highly "considering the circumstances". Then Kasper Høgh: "just a wee bit of lack of confidence at this minute", the chance Callum Osmand slid across the box, the hat-trick at Kilmarnock in the second game of the season, and competition for places with Camilo Durán.
Hibs 1-2 Celtic at Easter Road, Sunday 25 October 2026: Owen Elding put Hibs ahead early, Jason Kerr headed into his own net from the corner that followed, and Camilo Durán won it before half-time. Celtic go four points clear; Hibs stay bottom.
Martin O'Neill Post Match Interview Transcript (Hibs 1-2 Celtic):
Blustery conditions probably didn't help. We didn't play great. But to me, I thought it was our best win of the season considering the circumstances. Coming here, doesn't matter where Hibs are placed in the league, it's always been difficult. Blustery conditions didn't help. Didn't help either side, excuse me. And then to come from a goal behind to win the game and get the block towards the end as well to see the three points through. So, I thought it was our best win of the season. Seriously.
Maybe you just need a bit more from Kasper? Yeah, no. Yeah, I asked that question as well too. So, he's a box player. I think the one that Callum Osmand slid across the box, I think a confident Kasper would be sliding that one into the net a wee bit like the second game of the season at Kilmarnock. Yeah, definitely just a wee bit of lack of confidence at this minute, and he would need a goal and but you have to you know you have to fight through these things and you have to find yourself in the side and there's a bit of competition for places you know particularly if really... as we've said this before, if Durán's best position would probably be at centre-forward...
