🎥 Jimmy Thelin Full Post-Match Reaction | Aberdeen 1-0 Hibernian | "Maturity, Patience & A Vital Win!" | Scottish Premiership
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin shared his detailed and thoughtful reflections after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hibernian at Pittodrie – a result that keeps the Dons’ European hopes firmly alive.
Here’s everything Jimmy Thelin said after another big three points:
🔴⚪ Patience & Maturity: Thelin praised his side for staying patient throughout a tense match, remaining calm even as some nervousness grew in the stands. He highlighted the team's growing maturity – learning from previous tight matches to manage games better.
🔴⚪ Moment of Magic: Thelin lauded the "super goal" that secured the win, praising the quality and timing of the finish, and emphasising the importance of having players who can deliver in key moments when games are tight.
🔴⚪ Consistency & Calmness: Thelin credited recent experiences — such as the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts — for helping his players stay composed under pressure, particularly against a strong, fast Hibs side.
🔴⚪ Learning from Past Games: The manager underlined that recent late wins have built trust within the squad, helping them stay stable under pressure rather than panicking, and always believing a chance would come.
🔴⚪ Squad Depth Boost: With more players back fit, Thelin spoke about how substitutions are now strengthening Aberdeen during games, rather than weakening them — a key difference compared to earlier in the season.
🔴⚪ No Let Up: Despite the victory, Thelin insisted the pressure remains. Aberdeen still need to win their remaining games to achieve European qualification — there’s no room for complacency.
🔴⚪ Fan Praise: Thelin praised the Pittodrie crowd for their constant backing, saying the fans have been vital both home and away, and helped the players push through difficult moments this season.
🔴⚪ On Loan Players: When asked about the future of loan players, Thelin was clear: while he’s delighted with their current commitment, he wouldn’t speculate about contracts or long-term futures publicly.
🔴⚪ Jamie McGrath: Thelin dismissed any doubts about McGrath's focus despite his expiring deal, praising the midfielder's full commitment and strong performances.
👏 Another step forward for Jimmy Thelin’s Aberdeen project – full of grit, character, and now a growing belief that late drama will go in their favour.
