Roy Keane 'not having it' on Alex Ferguson reunion, says journalist who interviewed him - Peter Martin recalls a one-to-one interview with Roy Keane in which Keane flatly ruled out any reconciliation with Sir Alex Ferguson, likening it to reconciling with Mick McCarthy. He also shares a story of Ferguson calling him 'stupid' after he asked about Robbie Keane's move to Celtic.
"He was not having it." Peter Martin asked Roy Keane, in a one-to-one, whether there's any way back with Sir Alex Ferguson. Tam McManus says it's like asking Keane to reconcile with Mick McCarthy after the World Cup, and Gordon Parks remembers asking Sir Alex about Robbie Keane signing for Celtic: "I'm no answering that, stupid." Just before we go, listen, we'd love to see... I'd love to see it personally, Sir Alex Ferguson reconcile with Roy Keane. I know that probably on that podcast, The Overlap, they'll be absolutely thinking about paying him a king's ransom to go on it. Keane will be saying, no, I'm not going to be on it. Having interviewed, in a one-to-one, Roy Keane in the last two years, I sat down with him... The Beatson thing? For the Beatson. And basically I put it to him. He was good. And he just looked at me and went, I'm no answering that, stupid. Right? And I just went... I just crumbled and walked away. So I would say, that is my experience of Sir Alex.
Don't worry about Sir Alex calling you stupid, he's done that to me as well. But I don't think he's the problem. I think the more, you know...
