Stephen Robinson speaks to the media after Aberdeen secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Dundee United, continuing what has been a remarkable turnaround for a side that faced serious scrutiny earlier in the season.
Robinson is candid and reflective as he addresses a group of players who have been written off by many, praising their resilience, togetherness and determination to silence the critics. He opens up about the honest conversations he had with the squad when he arrived, the challenge of managing expectations following a difficult post-European campaign, and why recruitment will be the key to building on this foundation heading into next season.
The Aberdeen manager also discusses:
How winning games and keeping clean sheets has rebuilt confidence within the squad
The frank message he delivered to the players about outside perceptions when he first arrived
Which players have stepped up and impressed him most
The lessons learned from a tough season and why post-European drops are a recurring managerial challenge
Aberdeen's summer recruitment plans and the importance of signing players suited to the Scottish Premiership
"Everybody from afar thought Aberdeen could be in trouble. We've managed to turn that around as a group."
