Rangers 1-0 Motherwell | Alfred Johansson Post-Match | Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson gives an honest assessment after a 1-0 defeat at Rangers, admitting his side "weren't good enough" and were beaten by the better team at Ibrox. Johansson felt Motherwell struggled on the ball, which turned the game into a transition battle that suited Rangers, and refused to dwell on the goal they conceded, instead crediting goalkeeper Alex Poulsen's clean-sheet form for keeping the scoreline at 1-0.
WHAT DID ALFRED JOHANSSON SAY AFTER RANGERS 1-0 MOTHERWELL?
Johansson congratulated Rangers, said Motherwell did not play to their usual level, especially in possession, and took the defeat on the chin as "part of the game" for a side used to doing much better. He praised keeper Alex Poulsen, who later came off with cramp.

Alfred, what did you make of that game today?
Congratulations to Rangers, I think they were better than us today, they deserved the three points. I think we didn't play up to our best, especially not on the ball, and then the game becomes too much transitions, and Rangers are good there. So that's why the game ends the way that it does today, in my head.
Were you more pleased with your first-half performance than your second-half performance, and what do you think changed between those?
I think in the second half we tried to go for it a little bit more, and obviously Rangers in that moment had the lead, so it's a little bit different scenario than in the first half. To give a really good answer on that I'm going to have to watch the game back, because you take decisions as well. But over the 90 minutes today I think we were not good enough, especially on the ball. We're used to seeing this team do much better, and it's disappointing that we didn't play to our best, and it's disappointing to lose, but it's also a part of the game. We will not be at our best all the time, and if you come here and dream about taking three points, then you've got to do it, and we didn't.
How disappointed were you in the manner of the goal you conceded?
You don't want to concede goals, it doesn't matter if it's this or that, you never want to concede goals. But it's not even a point in my head today. I know I'll probably get more questions on this, but it's not even a point for me, and the reason it stays 1-0 today is also because of Alex Poulsen and how consistent he's been, how many clean sheets we've had this start of the season. It's not even a point.
Was Alex struggling with an injury when he came off?
