Celtic 0-1 Rangers reaction - Who's at fault? Martin O'Neill or the Celtic Board for not backing him during the transfer window? Since 2025, Celtic has gotten weaker and its only a matter of time before Martin O'Neill can't paper over the cracks.
Celtic 0-1 Rangers, and the question every Celtic fan is asking: who is really at fault, Martin O'Neill or the Celtic board that failed to back him in the transfer window? Peter Martin's answer is blunt, this board is shambolic, and the rot goes back long before this defeat.
Who is to blame for Celtic 0-1 Rangers?
Peter argues the manager is not the root of it. Celtic have been getting weaker since 2025, and it is only a matter of time before Martin O'Neill can no longer paper over the cracks. The real problem, he says, sits in the boardroom: a lack of ambition, a strategy built on profit rather than progress, and a club that has sold its best players without replacing them properly.
Why were Rangers so good?
This was a comprehensive Rangers win. Derek McInnes' side were "sensational" and tactically spot-on, the back three earning high marks for spirit, togetherness and discipline, dominating the game, exposing Celtic's defensive weaknesses again and again, and arguably good enough to have won by three or four.
What is wrong with Celtic?
The verdict on Celtic is damning: "totally and utterly disjointed" and "hopeless from middle to front", with issues that Peter traces all the way back to January 2025. Until the board changes, he argues, the same problems will keep coming round.
