Derek McInnes celebrates a big 2-1 win over Rangers that has them three points clear and he’s ready for a last day showdown with Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
Hearts 2-1 Rangers | Derek McInnes Post-Match Press Conference | Scottish Premiership
Derek McInnes speaks to the media after a dramatic comeback victory over Rangers at Tynecastle, as Hearts move closer to a historic Scottish Premiership title.
McInnes reflects on yet another come-from-behind win — the third in succession against top-half opposition — and pulls no punches about a disappointing first half that saw Rangers dominate possession and take the lead through a long-throw goal. He explains the tactical switch at half-time, the impact of substitutes, and why the second-half display was far more representative of a Hearts side sitting top of the league on a remarkable 76 points with three games to play.
The Hearts manager also discusses:
His half-time message to the players and the change in mentality
The tactical decision to play Spittle ahead of Chznikov and how it unlocked the game
Steven Kingsley's role in the winning goal and his shift to an unfamiliar position
Injury updates on Cammy and Harry ahead of the weekend
Whether the title race could go to the final day at Motherwell
What this run means for the club as a whole
"76 points with three games to go — that is potentially title-winning form."
