‘We’re STILL in Europe fight’ | David Gray | Rangers 1-2 Hibernian. "That's back-to-back wins now at two very difficult places — and it sets up nicely for next weekend." David Gray on Hibs' 1-2 win at Ibrox keeping them alive in the SPFL European-spot race against Motherwell. Saturday's Hibs v Motherwell decides who finishes in the European place.
🟢 DAVID GRAY ON THE WIN:
"We spoke about it being all about us, and making sure the only scenario for us to take it to the last day was to win. We knew that. And I'm delighted for the players because of what they put in, how they've stuck together over a difficult period — the start of the split especially. That's back-to-back wins now at two very difficult places. And it sets up nicely for next weekend."
🟢 GRAY ON THE FINAL 10-15 MINUTES:
"The players found a way to stay in the game through difficult moments. We were clinical when we needed to be. When you look at how the game sort of panned out the last sort of 10-15 minutes, we knew we had to win. So you throw caution to the wind, you get open a bit more expansive. Players knew that — they drove forward and went and got what they needed in the end. That goal got us the three points."
🟢 ON MONITORING THE MOTHERWELL-CELTIC SCORE:
"If Motherwell scored, the home fans would let me know. And if Celtic had scored, I'm pretty sure my fans would let us know — so that proved to be the case."
🟢 THE CONTEXT:
- Hibs win 2-1 at Ibrox — Rangers' final home game ended in defeat
