Just one little footnote before we talk about Rangers, Tam: it's Benfica next, and this is where the problems lie, because quite simply, you know, Martin... and I'm going to touch on it with Alex. Martin mentioned that there's a real advantage for Rangers because they're not playing European football. But the big problem for Celtic fans, who have released these statements in this constant civil war that's going on at the moment, is quite simply the Celtic fans are miffed because they know they can compete domestically. They're miffed because it's a complete lack of ambition in Europe for 20 years.
20 years of it, and they're sick of it. So this is Benfica coming up, and it's going to be another step up again. I'll tell you, if they play with that back four, they're going to get ripped. Yeah, I don't know if Cameron Carter-Vickers or Scales were kind of rested for Thursday night, because they cannot go with that back two, surely. Do you think they were rested, Tam? I don't know. I think yesterday was such an important one. I don't know, but... You mentioned Cameron Carter-Vickers, you know, maybe had an injury, but, you know, what was the injury to his mouth? Do you know what I mean? Did he injure his gob? Because quite simply the manager's not happy that he turned round and said to him, well, wait a minute... He's not happy with him. He said random tactics, and he wasn't happy. He's going to put Dane Murray against Benfica in a back four?
Well, that's what I'm saying. If he plays Dane Murray in there with Scales and Tierney and Colby Donovan, this could be anything. I don't think that's the case, Peter, and I'll give you my reason why. No, no, seriously. I like the fact you've just... He might go to a back three. I would suggest he goes to a back three against Benfica. But going back to the Carter-Vickers thing, my understanding is he's one of the leaders in there, and if you kind of ostracise him, and then, you know, there's a kind of a rift between the two of them, then I think you've really got bigger problems, because I think you need Carter-Vickers 100%. But he also has to toe the party line, if that's the reason why you're saying he potentially might be out. Yeah. Well, listen, if you're coming out, you're making statements like that when they should be kept in the dressing room.
It's great for us. We're thinking, it's a great line. Thank you for that line. But from a manager's point of view, he mentioned that he wasn't happy with it. Yeah, I'm absolutely certain that he's had a word with him on the quiet. You cannot say that. You can't come out of an Old Firm game and say that, and kind of deflect, you know, onto the manager, onto the management team, the style of play, when you've played poorly and the team's played poorly. I think it was a player thing, not a formation thing or whatever it was, or a system thing. I think Rangers just ran over the top of them, and I think you should just hold your hand up and go, they were better than us, rather than indicating it was maybe...
