PLZ Soccer › Editorial policy
This page explains how PLZ Soccer produces what you read here: where the information comes from, how articles are written and checked, what we do when we get something wrong, and where we have a commercial interest.
PLZ Soccer covers Scottish football and the wider game. We publish match previews and reports, the episodes and clips of The Football Show, club and player pages built from match data, and the results of our own Predictor, Fantasy and PLZ XI games.
Our match previews and episode write-ups are drafted automatically from match data using an AI writing tool, then saved as drafts. Nothing we generate publishes itself. Every draft has to be published by a person, and anything not published stays off the site.
The drafting tool is given match data and nothing else. It cannot browse the web, and it is instructed not to include injury claims, transfer talk, quotes or anything else it has not been given, because a writing tool asked for detail it does not have will invent it.
Articles carrying a writer's name reflect that writer's approach and subject area. Where a piece has been drafted with the tool described above, the writer's name indicates the voice and the remit, not that every sentence was typed by hand.
Fixtures, results, league tables, squads and match events come from football data providers under licence. Player appearance and availability information for English top-flight matches comes from the official league's own public feed. Episode information comes from our own YouTube channel.
Match data is reported as the provider supplies it. Where a provider is missing an event, such as a goal that never reached the feed, the figures on the page will be short by that event until the provider sends it.
We correct mistakes. If you think something here is wrong, email studio@plzsoccer.com with the page address and what you believe is incorrect.
When we correct something that changes the meaning of an article, we update the article and its last-updated date. We do not quietly delete pieces to make a mistake disappear.
Some articles show betting odds. Those prices come from a bookmaker's live feed and were correct when the page loaded; they change constantly, and the price you see at the bookmaker is the one that applies.
Links to a bookmaker from this site carry a tracking code, and PLZ Soccer may receive a commission if you open an account through one. That commercial relationship does not decide what we cover or what we say about a match. Odds are shown as information about a fixture, never as advice to bet.
Betting content on this site is for over-18s. Free, confidential help is available at BeGambleAware.
Clubs, leagues, sponsors and commercial partners do not get to approve our coverage or see it before publication. Where an article is sponsored or produced in partnership with someone, it will say so on the article itself.
Our writers are listed at plzsoccer.com/authors, with what they cover and where else they write.
