Hearts turn to Motherwell after 2-0 defeat at Trabzonspor
The Football Show weighed up Hearts' Conference League loss in Turkey, Trabzonspor's spending power and Sunday's trip to Fir Park.

Hearts' 2-0 defeat to Trabzonspor in the Conference League was the main talking point on The Football Show on Friday 23 October, with the panel looking for positives before turning to Sunday's meeting with Motherwell.
The verdict on the scoreline in Turkey was blunt. "You should be grateful that it was only two-nothing," was the view from the show, which set the defeat against the scale of the opponent Hearts had faced.
Trabzonspor's money
Much of that came down to resources. The panel pointed to Trabzonspor's financial muscle, singling out Franculino, who scored in the game. Trabzonspor, it was said, "signed him for like 15 million pound". The discussion of the Turkish side's spending also produced the line "Up against Mo Salah".
Hearts' own selection problems were part of the conversation, with Milne, Borchgrevink and Kingsley all discussed under the heading of the club's injuries.
Despite the result, the panel saw something to take from the night, describing it as "a wee bit of pride restored after the weekend".
Motherwell v Hearts
Attention then moved to Motherwell v Hearts at Fir Park on Sunday, with a run of five defeats in a row part of the conversation. One assessment was stark: "they look impotent". The panel also gave their predictions for the match.
The wider picture in the Scottish Premiership was framed as a league where clubs are "all fighting, scared of relegation", a reminder of how little room there is for any side to drift as the season goes on.
