CELTIC VS RANGERS OLD FIRM PREVIEW: Peter Martin, Hugh MacDonald and Gordon Parks are joined by special guest Owen Coyle to preview Sunday's Old Firm, from how you build a dressing room that wins these games to the injury row, the tactics and a panel split straight down the middle on the score.
How do you build a team that wins an Old Firm?
Owen Coyle explains what really matters in recruitment: bringing in "good men, good people", taking up character references, and treating a squad like "an extension of family", because it only takes one bad signing to "upset the whole dynamic". It is that togetherness, he argues, that Rangers had been missing and have started to rediscover.
Can Rangers beat Celtic at Celtic Park?
Derek McInnes is "not happy with the challenge by Bower on Naderi", whose ankle is "in a mess" and who is now a doubt, with Jim Gillespie contacting the SFA amid the usual frustration over VAR and overturned on-field decisions. On the pitch, the panel expect Rangers to press high, "get in their faces" and make it a physical battle, with a new centre-half partnership having steadied a previously soft defence, while Celtic's habit of conceding from the edge of the box is flagged as the danger.
What's the Old Firm score prediction?
"Whoever scores first wins", the panel agree, before splitting: 2-1 Rangers on current confidence and physicality against 1-0 Celtic on home advantage and the scale of the points at stake. An Old Firm divide, right here on the panel.
