Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson gives a pointed post-match reaction following Aberdeen v Rangers, carefully biting his tongue on the officials: "the authorities made sure we don't give our thoughts... you all seen the game." Aberdeen had a penalty appeal turned down when Kevin Nisbet went down and had a goal disallowed for a foul on Dujon Sterling, and Robinson questions the consistency: not enough force to award Aberdeen a penalty, yet enough to rule out an Aberdeen goal. He praises his players' second-half desire and battling, but says numerous reasons cost his side the three points.
WHAT DID STEPHEN ROBINSON SAY ABOUT THE REFEREEING?
He avoided direct criticism to steer clear of an SFA charge, but pointed to an inconsistency: the same level of contact was judged "not enough" for a Kevin Nisbet penalty yet "enough" to disallow an Aberdeen goal for a foul on Dujon Sterling. "Somebody's made that decision, rightly or wrongly, and it certainly affects the game."
HOW DID ABERDEEN PLAY AGAINST RANGERS?
Robinson was happy with the performance if not the result: Aberdeen took the game to Rangers in the second half, created chances and showed "real desire and determination", conceding only from first-half counterattacks before tightening up at half-time. Ultimately, "we play football to get three points" and Aberdeen didn't get them.
