Falkirk 1-2 Rangers: a Lawrence Shankland double dragged Derek McInnes' Rangers to all three points at the Falkirk Stadium. Shankland struck twice with his left foot, an eighth-minute effort into the roof of the net and a curling finish into the bottom corner 11 minutes from time, either side of a Kostadin Nedeljković own goal that had levelled it for Falkirk before half-time. It wasn't pretty, and Falkirk had chances of their own, but McInnes won't care as his side grind out a much-needed win.
Falkirk vs Rangers match report transcript:
Falkirk one, Rangers two, and two moments of magic from Lawrence Shankland provided Derek McInnes' men with all three points here at the Falkirk Stadium.
The first, after eight minutes, a left-foot shot into the roof of the net, gave the visitors the lead. Just a couple of minutes away from the end of the first half, Ethan Ross down the right-hand side crossed the ball into the box, and it was redirected into the Rangers net by Kostadin Nedeljković, and that made it 1-1 at the break.
In the second half, Falkirk had a good number of chances to get a goal in the match. Jacob Muir squandered two opportunities, and so did Aiden Doherty, but up stepped Shankland 11 minutes from time, curled a beautiful left-foot shot into the bottom corner of the net and gave Rangers all three points.
It wasn't pretty, but Derek McInnes won't be caring. He'll be hoping more of his players settle into this side and get a style as the weeks progress. He'll be happy to come out of Falkirk with all three points.
Is McInnes' Rangers finally turning a corner? Let us know in the comments.
