Rangers manager Derek McInnes gives his post-match reaction after a 1-0 win at Aberdeen, and turns straight to the transfer window: with deadline day looming, he confirms Rangers are "really keen and eager to get the striker in that we want" and expects things to "crank up" in the final couple of days. McInnes says a signing has taken longer "for reasons the club aren't guilty for", rules out imminent outgoings and says there have been no offers for Nico. He saw "a wee flavour" today of the attacking side he wants Rangers to become, but insists they need to "show teeth a bit more".
WILL RANGERS SIGN A NEW STRIKER BEFORE THE DEADLINE?
McInnes made clear it's the priority: Rangers are actively chasing the striker they want and expect the window to heat up in its final days. He framed the delay as out of the club's hands ("reasons the club aren't guilty for") rather than a change of plan.
WHAT DID McINNES SAY ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE?
He was encouraged: he called it "the team that I kind of hope we can be" and pointed to players getting into good attacking positions, while stressing Rangers must be more ruthless in the final third.
Will a new striker solve all of McInnes' problems? Let us know in the comments.
