"Both Achilles ruptures and significant injuries — both about 7 to 9 months, probably." Hearts vs Falkirk preview. Four days before the Scottish Premiership title decider at Celtic Park, Hearts have been hit with a devastating double injury blow. Manager Derek McInnes confirms TWO Hearts players have ruptured Achilles tendons and underwent surgery in London on Monday morning — both facing 7-9 months out.
🚨 DOUBLE ACHILLES DISASTER:
McInnes: "So, both [players] got operated in London yesterday morning. Both Achilles ruptures and significant injuries, both about 7 to 9 months, probably. So we managed to set up a scan and then an appointment with the expert down in London. And both lads flew down Sunday afternoon for their operation yesterday morning, early doors."
🏥 LONDON SURGERY:
Both players flew to London on Sunday afternoon for the operations, performed Monday morning. McInnes: "Both are travelling back up — [one] will travel to Birmingham today and Craig will come back to Glasgow for his rehab."
📅 TIMING:
- Operations: Monday 11 May 2026, early morning, London
- Recovery: 7-9 months (out until December 2026 / February 2027)
- Misses: ALL remaining 2025-26 fixtures including the title decider at Celtic Park
🏆 IMPACT — TITLE DECIDER FOUR DAYS AWAY:
Hearts face Celtic at Celtic Park this Sunday in a fixture that could decide the Scottish Premiership. With Hearts level on points / three points clear (verify exact standing), losing two senior players days before the biggest league fixture in 65 years is a body blow. Craig Halkett's defensive experience and leadership in particular will be hard to replace.
