❤️ Sir Alex Ferguson has been giving Derek McInnes advice ahead of Hearts’ title decider against Celtic! "He sent me a brilliant message yesterday morning… took a lot from that, and no doubt I'll speak to him before tomorrow." Derek McInnes confirms Sir Alex Ferguson has been in touch with messages of support ahead of Saturday's SPFL Premiership title decider against Celtic at Celtic Park, 12:30 KO.
🟦 DEREK McINNES — VERBATIM:
"I know you sometimes chat to Sir Alex. Have you had a chat this week?"
"Yeah, at the end of the week — before the Falkirk game. And he sent me a brilliant message yesterday morning. A brilliant message actually. Took a lot from that, and no doubt I'll speak to him before tomorrow."
🟦 WHY THE FERGUSON CONNECTION MATTERS:
- Sir Alex Ferguson is the most decorated British football manager in history
- He won the Premier League 13 times with Manchester United + the Champions League twice
- Before that, he won the SPFL title with Aberdeen in 1979-80, 1983-84, 1984-85 — the last team OUTSIDE the Old Firm to win the Scottish top flight
- Hearts would be the second team to break the Old Firm duopoly since Aberdeen in 1985
- McInnes is a former Aberdeen player + manager — direct Ferguson lineage
🟦 THE SATURDAY DECIDER:
- Celtic vs Hearts at Celtic Park, 12:30 KO
- Hearts: win OR draw = first SPFL title since 1959-60
- Celtic: must win
- 60,000 Celtic Park crowd, 750 Hearts tickets
