Watch Neil McCann's post match interview following Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership. Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann says his side were the better team and should have won after a hard-fought 0-0 draw away to Aberdeen at Pittodrie in the Scottish Premiership. McCann was pleased to leave with a point on the road but felt Kilmarnock did enough to take all three, praising his players' bravery and the character they showed to answer big questions after a difficult start to the season.
WHAT DID NEIL McCANN SAY AFTER ABERDEEN 0-0 KILMARNOCK?
McCann said Kilmarnock were "definitely the best team", deserved more than a point, and showed a glimpse of what they are capable of. He credited new signings still bedding in, a strong week on the training ground, and the determination of a squad desperate to prove they are better than their results so far.
Neil McCann post match interview transcript following Aberdeen 0-0 Kilmarnock:
(...we) should have won. Yeah, I think we were definitely the best team today. We leave with a point, we're pleased with that point, but yeah, we probably deserve three. Coming to a team like Aberdeen on our travels, we can't be too disgruntled with a point.
The most pleasing thing, I said to them in there, is that sometimes when there's big questions asked of you, you can answer them back positively. And I think today we showed that we're brave, getting back to a wee glimpse of what we're capable of.
It's going to take a wee bit more time, because it's new players coming in and it's understanding what we demand. But my goodness, to a man, the starting eleven, the boys that came on, the boys that were desperate to come on from behind us and didn't, they had a great week this week. And I think there's a wee bit of determination there, that they want to start showing that they're better than what they've served up in terms of points. There's been glimpses of performances, but I think that was the least that we (deserved today).
Aberdeen and Kilmarnock meet again next week in the Premier Sports Cup. Who wins the rematch? Let us know in the comments.
