"It's actually cost Hearts the league. That decision, and then Celtic getting the penalty decision, which I think the referee panel came out last week and said it was a mistake." — Tam McManus on The Football Show, 28 May 2026.
Willie Collum, the SFA's Head of Refereeing, has admitted Hearts SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARDED a penalty against Motherwell at Tynecastle (the Kyziridis incident) — AND that Celtic were wrongly given a penalty against Liam Scales (the Sam Nicholson handball six minutes into added time at Fir Park). Two decisions. The final weeks of the title race.
SFA CEO Ian Maxwell has called the public reaction to John Beaton's penalty award "disgusting" — the same word Hearts manager Derek McInnes used to describe the decision itself. Beaton's personal details were leaked online after the call.
Tam McManus + Peter Martin on whether the decisions DID cost Hearts the league — and whether Maxwell's attack on the media is the SFA dodging accountability for the calls Willie Collum has now admitted were wrong.
