Aberdeen have announced the pre-contract signing of Inverness midfielder Greg Tansey.
The Dons thought they had signed Tansey late in the 2016 winter transfer window when their offer met a release clause in the player’s contract, but Inverness did not agree to the deal and later claimed Tansey had decided to stay.
Now Aberdeen will get the 28-year-old for free on a three-year deal when his Inverness contract expires in the summer.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said: “He is a player we have admired for a long time and he will be a very welcome addition to the squad here at Pittodrie.
“He is a confident player, exactly the type of player we want to see at our club. There is more to come from Greg and I’m sure we will provide the perfect platform for him to develop.”
