Celtic were humiliated 1-3 at home by Ferencvaros in the Europa League, and the most damning verdict of all: their best player over 50 minutes was 35-year-old stalwart James Forrest. After a summer with no recruitment spending and a weak back line, the night unravelled from a car-crash manager's interview to two goals conceded in quick succession, before former Celtic player Arzani scored an absolute raker into the roof of the net.

Celtic 1 Ferencvaros 3, another embarrassment at home, this time in the Europa League for Celtic. And there's no point in going back over what happened in the summer: Celtic have spent no money in the recruitment process. Good teams are built from the back, and Celtic do not have a good back line.

The whole thing started off with a car-crash interview from the manager with one of the TNT Sports reporters, and then from there the side came out and it just went from bad to worse: going a goal behind, getting a goal back, and then, just over 100 seconds later, conceding another to go 2-1 down. And then, as if to add insult to injury, a former Celtic player, Arzani, scored an absolute raker into the roof of the net.

It's perhaps a fair indication of where Celtic are that the best player they had over 50 minutes of that match was a 35-year-old stalwart in James Forrest.
