Your latest Scottish Football news for 4 August. Celtic are up and running in the defence of their title: Benjamin Nygren's second-half header sealed a 1-0 win over Dundee on flag night at Celtic Park. In the market, Celtic and Rangers are both linked with the same winger, while Celtic could lose Alistair Johnston and Arne Engels to English clubs before their Champions League qualifier against LASK of Austria.
Rangers have confirmed Nedim Bajrami's loan exit to Saudi Pro League side Al-Taawoun and agreed a deal for Hannover's Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota — as they head to Poland to face Jagiellonia Białystok after that opening-day draw at Dundee United. And on Monday's Football Show, Alex Rae argued that winning the league has to be Derek McInnes's number-one target.
European week (Thursday): Hearts in Lisbon v Benfica, Motherwell in Finland v HJK Helsinki, and Hibs at home to Shkëndija.
