Celtic 1-3 Ferencváros: Peter Martin rips into Celtic's current form, pointing to a shaky defence that’s been leaving gaps on transitions, a disjointed midfield failing to control games or link play, and a toothless attack unable to finish chances or punish opposition mistakes. He warns that those issues will be exposed even more in a brutal run of fixtures — Rangers, Hearts and Motherwell domestically, followed by tough away tests against Benfica, Celta Vigo and Besiktas — making this stretch a real litmus test for the squad.

Peter Martin rips into a toothless Celtic after a 1-3 home defeat to Ferencvaros in the Europa League. He points to a poor back line, a disjointed midfield and a front line short of confidence, and warns that a brutal run of fixtures is coming: Rangers in the Old Firm, Hearts and Motherwell in the league, then Benfica away, Celta Vigo and Besiktas in Europe. "They are going down while the profits continue to go up."
Transcript:
But other than that, the back line is so poor, the midfield is disjointed, and the front line is toothless at the moment and lacking in major confidence. And it doesn't really hold any great confidence for Celtic fans to know that on the horizon is Rangers. They also have Hearts and Motherwell coming up in the league, and let's not forget Benfica away, and they'll also have to deal with Celta Vigo and Besiktas in this Europa League as well.
So, grim times. You can look and assess the damage and wonder if Rangers can come to Celtic Park and give them the most miserable of weeks. But on the evidence of tonight, Celtic's misery continues. They are going down while the profits continue to go up. You can make of it what you will.
