It’s all over here at Tannadice, and it’s finished Dundee United 2, Dundee 4.
What an incredible Dundee Derby we have been treated to here, and what a first half it was by the visitors!
They took the lead after just 17 minutes on the clock when Jordan McGhee's header flew into the back of the net.
They had their second just 5 minutes later when Scott Tiffoney’s outrageous effort from about 25 yards out was bundled and made a mistake of by Jack Walton in the Dundee United net.
Five minutes later, however, Dundee United had one back of their own, that one coming through Glenn Middleton—a fantastic strike from him, just curling it into the top right-hand corner.
But Dundee regained their two-goal lead heading into the break right on the stroke of halftime, thanks to Jordan McGhee once again. A fantastic effort—the goals on show here today were quite scintillating!
Heading into the second half, we were hoping for the same again—that intensity. And, well, it came.
Dundee United got a goal back in the 48th minute, and it was Sadat Anaku just sending the ball off to Tony Watt, and his deflected effort managed to find its way into the back of the net.
Dundee United were giving it everything in this game to go on and get that equalizer, but the Dundee defense and Trevor Carson in the net held strong.
And then they managed to go on and get their fourth right at the end of this one.
Simon Murray just breaking through the line, and Dundee—he looked set to go and shoot on goal, but Adam Legzdins with just a push in his back—he was sent off for that.
Up stepped Simon Murray from the penalty spot— he coolly converted it into the bottom left-hand corner.
What a day for Dundee, and what a crucial three points this could be in their battle to avoid the drop!
They now sit just one point behind 10th-placed Kilmarnock in the table.
We’ll be speaking to both managers straight after this, but at full-time here in the Dundee Derby:
It’s finished—Dundee United 2, Dundee 4.
