Dundee United 1-1 Rangers: the points are shared at Tannadice on the opening night of the 2026-27 Scottish Premiership — and a disappointing start to Derek McInnes's tenure as Rangers manager.

Lachlan Rose fired the hosts ahead on his Dundee United debut before Thelo Aasgaard levelled with a lovely piece of skill and a blast into the net — an excellent showing from the Norwegian international, who cut his holiday short to rejoin McInnes's side. Rangers felt they might have had a late penalty when Diomande went down in the box, while Dundee United pushed for a winner of their own, Jesse Randall going close at the death.

In the end, honours even at Tannadice Park.
