Hibs are the visitors to Tannadice tonight, hot off the back of that impressive 2-1 win over Celtic at the weekend. David Gray’s side will be determined to keep that 13-game unbeaten streak going. A victory here tonight could see them leapfrog Dundee United into fourth place on goal difference and put them just one point behind third-place Aberdeen.
With the Edinburgh Derby just around the corner at the weekend, Hibs will be determined to go into that one off the back of a midweek victory. Although their last visit here at Tannadice, they lost 3-2, with two very late stoppage-time goals being their undoing.
Josh Campbell will be a man full of confidence after his brace against the Hoops at the weekend. Elie Youan and Adam Le Fondre come back into contention after missing out against Celtic.
Dundee United ended a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Motherwell at the weekend, and a victory here tonight would see them knock Aberdeen off their third-place perch after their defeat to Celtic last night.
On-loan Wrexham striker Sam Dalby has been a thorn in the side of many a Scottish Premiership team this season. He’s actually the league’s top scorer with 12 goals in 24 games, so he’s one for Hibs to watch tonight.
One man Dundee United will have to do without, of course, is Kevin Holt. He made the switch to Dens Park over the weekend after the move was confirmed. Dundee United released a statement saying that the player and his agent made it clear that he would be unavailable for selection until the end of the season if the deal didn’t go through. The 32-year-old has since refuted those claims.
Tonight, Dundee United will begin life without the center-back in their ranks.
