Jim Goodwin Post-Match Reaction | Dundee United 0-5 Celtic | Celtic Crowned Scottish Premiership Champions
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin gives his honest assessment after a tough afternoon at Tannadice, where Celtic ran out 5-0 winners to officially secure the Scottish Premiership title. 🏆🍀
In this in-depth interview, Goodwin reflects on:
⚽ Dundee United’s strong opening 30 minutes – and how early promise quickly faded after Celtic’s devastating counterattacking.
⚽ The frustration of an own goal and rapid counter that turned the game completely in Celtic’s favour.
⚽ How Brendan Rodgers’ tactical adjustments and Celtic’s speed and quality overwhelmed his side.
⚽ Why he takes responsibility for the result and protected key players like Sam Dalby and Liam Doherty for the final matches.
⚽ His pride in United’s overall season – fighting into the top six and still pushing hard for a potential European place.
⚽ Acknowledging Celtic’s dominance – praising their quality, hunger, and rightful claim as the best team in Scotland by a country mile.
⚽ Addressing the unusual protest that interrupted the match briefly – and its frustrating timing when United were competitive early on.
⚽ His rallying message to the Dundee United fans and players: they must pick themselves up quickly ahead of four crucial games left.
👏 A classy and honest interview from Jim Goodwin — acknowledging the gulf in quality on the day but refusing to let one defeat define Dundee United’s season.
