Kilmarnock 3-2 Ayr United Highlights Transcript:
Kilmarnock 3, Ayr United 2, and it's derby day delight for Neil McCann's side in the Ayrshire derby. It was a fierce game, end-to-end action.
Owen Stirton had the visitors ahead after just 5 minutes, they started on the front foot, and then Kilmarnock got back in it through Joe Hugo. Ross Taylor fired Ayr United in front just after half-time, a lovely curling effort, and then his wonderful goal was matched by Michael, the left-back, who cuts inside from the left and hit it in on his right to make it 2-2.
Late on, but in the end the hero of the day is going to be Nicky Clecenco. That young man has read himself into Kilmarnock folklore, dinks the goalkeeper Harry Stone right at the death in the 90th minute and sent this place into absolute rapture.
So limbs everywhere, and there's going to be a lot of happy customers coming out of here tonight. Not so much for the honest men. Gary Naysmith's side have had a great start to the season, they fought bravely tonight, but in the end Kilmarnock just had too much for them. And it is once again a very, very happy day for Kilmarnock in the Ayrshire derby. Full time here: Killie 3, Ayr 2.
