Rangers vs Celtic in the Scottish League Cup is almost here! The Old Firm battle it out at Ibrox to progress in the Premier Sports Cup, but which team will win? Also, Lewis Ferguson transfer rumours to Rangers intensify and why Celtic keep getting weaker each season (regardless of who they sign and how much they spend).
Will Rangers knock Celtic out of the cup? The Journos give their Old Firm predictions ahead of the Premier Sports Cup tie at Ibrox, and get stuck into why Celtic seem to get weaker every season despite their spending. The panel dismiss the Lewis Ferguson-to-Rangers transfer rumour as "a nonsense story", break down Celtic's transfer dysfunction and lost European ambition, and split on who progresses in the Old Firm.
WILL RANGERS BEAT CELTIC IN THE CUP?
The panel are divided: one backs Rangers to knock Celtic out at Ibrox, calling it a huge boost for Derek McInnes, while others fancy Celtic's firepower to edge a high-scoring tie despite defensive weaknesses.
IS THE LEWIS FERGUSON TRANSFER REAL?
The Journos don't buy it, arguing Rangers won't spend 15-20 million on any player, that Ferguson isn't the match-winning profile they need, and that the story has been talked up by his father Derek Ferguson.
WHY DO CELTIC KEEP GETTING WEAKER?
The panel argue Celtic are regressing, pointing to transfer dysfunction, board members doing the negotiations, a 12 million profit while "not spending a penny", and a lack of European ambition since the 2003 UEFA Cup final.
