⚽ Result & Missed Chances
Jim Goodwin admitted Kilmarnock deserved their 2–0 win, saying they were more clinical while Dundee United failed to take their opportunities. Bruce Anderson’s opener and a poor defensive lapse for the second goal were decisive moments. Goodwin stressed his side must take responsibility, particularly at set plays.
🔑 Possession & Sloppiness
United had more of the ball and similar shot numbers to Kilmarnock but were let down by sloppy play, especially in the first half. Cheap giveaways and slow transitions allowed Kilmarnock to regroup and stay defensively solid. Goodwin highlighted that if you don’t do the basics in this league, you get punished.
📉 Momentum Lost
The defeat ended a small unbeaten run. Goodwin said the expectation was on United to break Kilmarnock down but credited Stuart Kettlewell’s side for defending superbly. Over the full game, he admitted they deserved the three points.
💪 No Excuses
Goodwin rejected fatigue as an explanation, insisting his squad is young, fit, and had enough recovery time since Tuesday. He said the team must accept the criticism after recent praise and learn from the defeat.
