He emphasizes the need for consistency over the full 90 minutes, highlighting how crucial it is for the team to improve their decision-making in the final third and in defending transitions. While crediting Dundee United for their clinical performance, he also praises young attacking talents like Rory Pton and Leis Furini for their contributions. Jim Goodwin Post Match Press Conference (Dundee 1-0 Dundee United) Highlights:
On Consistency and Composure in Football:
"We know that if we start the game well and maintain that composure for all 90 minutes, our performance will speak for itself. Today, the lack of that early composure cost us dearly."
On Tactical Adjustments During Dundee vs Dundee United:
"Our shape was good, and we knew that an early goal in the second half would kill any lingering belief from our opponents. Thatâs exactly the kind of tactical intelligence we need to display consistently."
On Learning from Setbacks in the Scottish Cup:
"We gave it everything we hadâthrowing the kitchen sink at themâbut sometimes, no matter how hard you push, you just donât get that crucial break. Itâs on us to learn from these moments and get better."
On Team Spirit and Resilience:
"The character of our players will never be called into question. They recognized our shortcomings, fought back, and kept their heads high. Weâre disappointed, yesâbut we wonât let this derail our season."
On the Importance of the Scottish Premiership League:
"Cup competitions are important, but ultimately, the league is our priority. We need to refocus, regroup, and get back to doing what we do best."
