St Mirren manager Craig McLeish reflects on a 3-3 draw with Motherwell in a six-goal thriller in Paisley, and explains why the overriding feeling in the home dressing room is disappointment. For McLeish, that disappointment is itself a marker of progress: "It shows how far we've come as a group that we are disappointed with a point." He praises his players' character in coming back from two goals down, gives an injury update on Killian Phillips, and addresses the transfer futures of Killian Phillips and Jake Young with deadline day approaching.

WHY ARE St MIRREN DISAPPOINTED WITH A DRAW?
Because the standard has risen. McLeish framed dropping two points at home as a sign of how far the group has come, pointing to Motherwell celebrating a point at St Mirren Park as proof. He felt St Mirren created enough to win and were punished by top-quality Motherwell finishing, "similar to Rangers, where you get punished with real quality."

WHAT IS THE KILLIAN PHILLIPS INJURY UPDATE?
Phillips missed the game after a challenge in the Rangers match caught him on the shin, with the swelling failing to settle all week. McLeish expects him to miss around another week before returning to the training pitch, a blow during a congested run of fixtures.

WHAT DID McLEISH SAY ABOUT TRANSFERS (JAKE YOUNG, KILLIAN PHILLIPS)?
McLeish is relaxed about interest in Killian Phillips: nothing official has come in, and both player and club are calm unless an offer is too good to turn down. On Jake Young, who impacted the game off the bench, he confirmed a reported move is "not quite concrete yet" but conversations are taking place, and warned St Mirren must protect the depth of their squad as the window closes on Thursday.
