Alfred Johansson post match interview following Hibs 1-2 Motherwell. We had EIGHT players making their Premiership debut for Motherwell!’

Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson is delighted with how quickly his side have gelled together after a summer of upheaval.

His side emerged 2-1 victors over Hibernian in their opening league fixture.

Alfred Johansson was a proud man after Motherwell's 1-2 win at Easter Road — and no wonder. The Motherwell boss handed EIGHT players their Scottish Premiership debut, some of whom had only been at the club for a matter of days.

Speaking after the game, Johansson praised the commitment and spirit his rebuilt squad showed to "ride out the storms" and take three points on the road, calling it evidence that Motherwell have "brought the right characters in."

A dream start to his domestic tenure — and a statement that the Steelmen aren't slowing down despite their summer sales.
