Gordon Parks: Martin O'Neill's Return To Celtic Is Partly About The Contract, Not Just Loyalty. Parks argues Martin O'Neill took on his role at Celtic as much for economic reasons as for the good of the club, while also warning that Celtic supporters' grievances are not being properly addressed.

I agree with you. I felt quite sad, actually, that he took on the reins of this, because you saw the weather coming down the street and you thought, hold on a minute, this is not going to get better. I think he's perfect for the club, to have somebody of that stature to be a buffer and to try and diffuse a lot of things and to speak well at press conferences and to understand the climate, and that's what his job is, to do that. I also think he's there because of the contract. I think it's economically beneficial for him to be there. And again, people don't want to say that because it's Martin O'Neill, but that's the reality of it. And I think he's factored that into his decision to stay on and try and breathe life into this season. It's coming apart.
Supporters need, first and foremost, to be able to be heard, the grievances, to feel as though there's somebody addressing the problems that they've got, the issues. That doesn't exist at Celtic. I don't know why there's not any kind of attempt to liaise properly.
