"There's no sentiment in football." On The Football Show, the panel remember Celtic moving Jock Stein on in 1977-78, with Desmond White pictured shaking Billy McNeill's hand, and ask how it could happen to Martin O'Neill: "Martin's decided he's going to be an ambassador. Go upstairs. He's getting the full pay-off." Tam McManus: "I don't think Martin will get through the season." (Recorded before Sunday's 2-0 win at Fir Park.)

I don't think the board would ever... I think the only way they would do it is say Martin's decided, when he hasn't. Martin's decided he's going to be an ambassador. Go upstairs. He's getting the full pay-off, and, you know, we want to thank him. And here comes...
Tam, does he make the season? Does he get through the season? Is he the manager at the end of the season?
It's a big call, Tam. What a question for you in your first day back.
No, I don't think he will. I don't think Martin will get through the season. I think it's almost an inevitable certainty that he won't be.
If I was a betting man, I am, I would say no.
Because of the results?
I just think the results and the catalogue of problems, everything. I don't think he's got, surely he's not got the energy every week, you know, talking about...
