Brendan Rodgers‘ side make it back to back wins against Dundee this afternoon ahead of their meeting with Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
It was a dominant display from Celtic this afternoon with chances being created all over the park. Liam Scales and Bernardo both having he opportunity to head Celtic in front. The hosts were unfortunate in the opening quarter when Lyall Cameron was able to fend off the Celtic defence and put the ball across the face of goal although there were no takers to side foot it past Joe Hart and put the Glasgow outfit under pressure.
The biggest chance for Celtic came for Kyogo on the half hour mark when Matt O’riley played a magnificent ball to the Japanese striker who looked certain to score being one on on with Trevor Carson but the forward sent his effort marginally wide of the target.
Into the second half and Bernardo managed to slip the ball through the Dundee number ones legs to open the scoring. Dundee didn’t give Joe Hart much do to as Celtic attacked the Dundee goal desperate to increase their advantage.
With the derby looming every player will want to put themselves in the mind of Brendan Rodgers and that is exactly what Mikey Johnston did today. The young winger came on to replace Luis Palma on the 79th minute and had netted a double in style by the time the full time whistle had gone. Which begs the question, has he done enough to be put in amongst the starting 11 come Saturday.
