Rangers tick off their first home win of their European campaign after an impressive performance against Romanian champions FCSB.

The opening five minutes would have filled the stadium with dread after Jack Butland was dispossessed in his own half by David Miculescu. The strikers early finish was disallowed for a foul on the Rangers keeper in the build up.

Nicolas Raskin’s effort from 20 yards was unfortunate not to break the deadlock after forcing Tarnovanu to make a diving save within just seven minutes.

Rangers took the lead through Tom Lawrence. The Welshman sent a low right footed strike into the back of the net to give his side the lead within the opening 10 minutes at Ibrox.

The Romanian outfit failed to pose much of a threat against Philippe Clement’s men after the light blues got themselves ahead.

The second came from Vaclav Cerny, a terrific hit beyond the Romanian goalkeeper gave Rangers a healthy lead heading into the second 45.

The home side started the second half with much of the same energy with Cerny adding to the scoresheet. The Czech winger danced in behind the FCSB defence and with his favored left foot, scored his fifth goal of the season.

Rangers kept their foot firmly on the gas heading into the final third. Hamza Igamane replaced Cyriel Dessers on the hour mark. After some impressive foot work, the Moroccan forward slotted the ball into the far corner extending Rangers’ lead.

Igamane almost had his second goal in a Rangers jersey from the centre of goal however, Tarnovanu was quick to react.

Another impressive display from Philippe Clements side, the Ibrox outfit will now hope to carry this momentum into the weekend as Rangers host St Mirren this Sunday.
