The Chairman of the Scottish Manager’s and Coaches Association has branded Stuart Kettlewell’s Motherwell exit ‘bang out of order.”

The Fir Park boss handed his resignation to club chiefs yesterday, citing personal abuse leading to his family no longer wanting to attend games, as the reason for his shock departure.

Now, Billy Brown has spoken out in defence of the now former Motherwell boss.

He EXCLUSIVELY told PLZ Soccer: “I think what has happened with Stuart Kettlewell is bang out of order.

“When abuse of Stuart starts to effect his family and he resigns because of it… Motherwell have lost a good manager.

“Motherwell are a good football club with good supporters. Obviously there is an element there that has been doing this.

“The outcome is to nobodies benefit.”

The Steelman will face Celtic this weekend in their first match since Stuart Kettlewell’s departure.
